Code of Practice for Problems Class Tutors
Guidelines for Problems Class Tutors
	-
		A separate job description lists
the specific responsibilities of the Problems Class Co-ordinator.

	-
The Problems Class Co-ordinator and all tutor are expected to
be in attendance at the class throughout the session.

	-
It is a vital part of the education process that the staff and tutors
engage the students regularly in discussion on the
problems. To this end, staff tutors are expected to be
conversant with the basic physics and solutions of all
		problems.

	-
Cases where, after discussion with the tutor, a student feels that the
mark awarded to their work is unfair must be referred to the
		Problems Class Co-ordinator for adjudication.

	-
		If a tutor suspects plagiarism,
e.g. because two scripts are identical, the Problems Class Co-ordinator must
		be notified immediately.

	-
If a student is ill, the Missing Marks Procedure can be used to construct an
estimated 'proxy' mark, but only after the Senior Administrator has confirmed that
a Mitigating Circumstances Claim Form has been received by the
Education Support Office and approved by Mitigating Circumstances Committee.
