Use your titles as headlines
Your titles should be like newspaper headlines; giving a super brief
summary of the article and telling the reader whether they want to read
any more.
Use section headers as summaries
Exactly the same goes for section headers inside longer articles, they
should be brief summaries of the section they head.
Not only does this help the reader to scan the text
to gain an overview and decide which parts to read in greater detail,
knowing the conclusion of a paragraph at the outset makes it easier to
understand.
Albert et. al. use this to great effect in their classic
Molecular biology of the Cell.
