Chair of Research Committee

Role Description

1. Chair 2 meetings of School Research committee per term.
2. Review internal and external grant proposals with Committee members.
3. Monitor PhD students' progress.
4. Monitor compliance with the Code of Good Practice for Supervision of Research Students
5. Keep oversight of research in the School.
6. Encourage staff to attain their full research potential.
7. Review regularly, from December to June, postgraduate recruitment.
8. Keep abreast of EPSRC policy changes.
9. Monitor grant proposals and grant income.
10. Ensure research section of School Web Site is up to date.
11. Participate in Allocation of DTA Research-Studentships procedures.
